I began making jewelry because I wanted something that was
different ...unique.
I have always been into fashion. I went through it all, the 70's,
the 80's and the
90's. Elephant pants, shoulder pads and power beads. I did hair
wraps at Dead Shows and then took my earnings and bought priceless,
memorable jewelry on the strip.
Through it all, I always loved accessories.
I began to look into beading classes when my son Quinn turned 1. I
had previously been a Third grade teacher at a Cabrini Green
elementary school in Chicago. I taught there for five years. As I
began to design and wear pieces, people started to request pieces
for themselves and The Bead of The Soul was born.
In the last five years my jewelry line has been sold through select
boutiques around the country. In June 2002, I was invited to do a
Trunk Show at Bloomingdale's. Due to the success of my shows that
followed, The Bead of The Soul collection became a permanent
addition to the Skokie and North Michigan Avenue Bloomingdale's. I
have also done successful Trunk Shows at Bloomingdale's in Century
City, L.A. and SoHo New York.
I am currently married and raising two children, Quinn James and
Lucy Belle. As my children grow- so does my business. Designing
jewelry is my passion and I will always create looks that are both
beautiful and timeless.
One feeling that always stays with me is the knowledge that I have
always stayed true to what I am......a Hippie Princess. And my
jewelry reflects that.
